Shopping

I’m generally pretty lucky in that I rarely get sick. I don’t remember the last time that I even had a cold but this week I have the most awful cold. Sore throat; fever; the lot. Poor me :( I’m pretty much impossible when I get sick, I have no patience and the thought of wallowing around doing nothing is less than attractive so I generally manage to make myself worse by still doing everything I’d be doing if I were well.  But the main thing is that I’m feeling a lot better today. Even well enough to pop to the shops. Christmas has hit Starbucks so I had a mincepie and a coffee although I obviously wasn’t deemed worthy enough for their Christmas cups.  I’m currently uploading a new movie to the site which will be live very shortly. Au bord de la mer

Au bord de la mer

Well my site should be full of content right now… in theory anyway. In the last few weeks I’ve booked 5 girls for none of them to show. That’s the risk you take with brand new girls. They often wuss out/change their mind at the last minute. I have no problem with them changing their mind of course, but it can prove frustrating… I do however have 3 shoots of girls that I’m sure will show and 3 shoots of me coming up too. And I’m sure that 90% of them will go ahead. I’m even heading off to a get naked at a farm pretty soon for the site… Have your fingers crossed that the weather will stay fine for me!

It did however leave me with a 5 day gap of doing nothing so some friends and I have scooted off to find some seaside somewhere in France and I’m taking the opportunity to have some photos taken while I’m here… of course! ;) It’s a bit overcast today but I still got a little shot and tomorrow’s weather is supposed to be much better. It all ties in quite well really. One of my friends graduated from uni last week so we all got to head off straight after a big celebratory party to do even more celebrating! We’re actually quite a boring group over here if I’m honest… I’m learning how to play chess properly so am taking a break from a *very serious* game to try out the internet nearby. Wi-fi is *such* a good thing.

Has anyone caught the study into soft drinks which contain Sodium Benzoate? Well it was the final push to convince me to stop drinking Pepsi Max. I am sorta climbing the walls with withdrawl at the minute but suggestions that it has the ability to mess with my mitochondria and switch off parts of my DNA was more than enough to shock me into making up my mind. I have no idea what makes the stuff so addictive but it’s sooo evil! :>

Happy New Year!

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

Well – that makes me a whole week late but I figured that I should post it anyway! A crazy new year’s celebration with friends; followed by a cold and the bookstore have ensured that I have been a little late writing anything. The cold is pretty much cleared up now which is great. I’ve spent lots of time lounging around in bed; reading; watching junk tv and eating. Just like I did over Christmas really! I’ve just finished this book and rather than start on this one (I got carried away in the history section in borders!) I thought that I’d actually get up and make some shooting plans! Much more fun! I’ve spent far too much time in bed! :>

Go Elf Yourself…

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Apparently nothing says “Merry Christmas” like ‘Elfing Yourself’ online, and then sharing it with friends and family… we’ll i’m not sure about that. Kept me entertained for a few minutes though. I giggled a little when I elfed myself. A lot more when I elfed some friends; Check it out and try it yourself!!! :P

 Elfed Up Ruth!

Err - Me, disturbingly elfed.

It’s really quite disturbing!

So Christmas is nearly here! My folks come up to visit tomorrow and then I’m home for Christmas from Christmas Eve. Bring on the turkey!!!

Ikea. Joy oh joy.

Flat pack furnitureSo it’s nearly 11pm. I’m getting there. My place is now so much of a tip that I have to carry on because there isn’t one piece of exposed floor anywhere in my living space. ANYWHERE! Oops! One thing is built. One to be finished; one still to go.

Check out just a small sample of the mess on a shot that I took on my phone cam. I would take more pics if I could easily get into the room; and then cupboard that my camera’s in. This fuzzy one can give you a good idea.

It wasn’t a good start when I found that just one of the three pieces of furniture that I bought has 320 different screws to stick the thing together with. I managed to waste a good 45 minutes where I was entirely sure that the Ikea assembly instructions were plain wrong. I even googled to see if there was a recognised error in the instructions for the draws I’m building. I didn’t find anything. Another 20 mins later I realised that it was just me being stupid. I am very much feeling like a 5 year old playing with building blocks.

I’m going to be up for a while tonight I think! Still… its much more fun than a jigsaw.

Flat Pack FurnitureYay! My generica furniture has arrived! Sort of… Just gotta try and put it all together.

New Flatmate

Friday, December 8th, 2006

Sorry for being quiet but my new flatmate moved in over the weekend so I’ve spent my time generally being sociable; You know… planning what sky package to buy; showing him where the bins go; that sorta thing. My old flatmate had to move with work so i’ve been stuck and a little poor for a while covering the whole rent. Advertising for a flatmate didn’t go so well as, rather than message me through the site as I didn’t list my email address, the first two apps came through the same day to my r@ar email address.

Hey Ruth; hot pics; I recognised the pics of the flat from your website. Lets live together; I don’t wanna live in your area though. Are you tied to a long lease cause we could find a place in East London together instead. That’s where I’m looking to move to

That kinda yawn.

Luckily I got a text message that same day from an old flatmate saying

”Hey Ruth; I’m not sure if this is still your phone number; I don’t suppose you know anyone that’s looking for a flatmate do you?”

How lucky is that?! So Tim has moved in. Tim, Cassie and me used to live together when I first moved to London so it’s perfect really. With the exception of this weekend he goes to visit his family every weekend and works really long hours. More perfectly he knows what I do for a living so everythings easy on that front :>

Hmm… so on Wednesday with the first spare money I’ve had in a while; I went on a visit to Ikea. They’re actually launching shop onine in the new year which will be pretty cool. The stuff is supposed to arrive anytime now…. Lots of boring furniture. No doubt I’ll be back blogging and bitching on here in a while about how I can’t put all the stuff together. We’ll see I guess. Then I’m off Christmas tree shopping.

Deliverance

Deliverance

Today is a good day for quite a few reasons!

The thing that most excited me today was a menu in my postbox for a food delivery service called Deliverance and although I haven’t ordered from them tonight their menu rocks! Real food of many varieties along with cake; wine and even cigarettes! Pizza; pasta; sushi; thai food; indian food; chinese food; tapas. I do get terribly excited by good take out! Don’t get me wrong… I love to cook but on busy days… especially shoot days when you don’t get home until really late and all you want to do is slob out. Being able to log on the website and order my food whilst checking my emails is the ultimate luxury for me!

Yummy………

So what else good has happened? Photosets shot a while ago are finally ready so I can use them! Yay! The first set is right up on the site now and I think the sets are just lovely. A few months later than planned but just lovely! So I’m also totally pleased by that

AND the cuteness that is Fern-face called me today and is coming back for another shoot next week as well! We haven’t picked a day yet but I’ll keep you posted! :P

I also have a new flatmate moving in next week but I’ll save that story for another post. I’m going to go and salivate over this menu some more and plan what I’m going to order next time I’m too tired to cook! Night x

28 Days Later

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

GiftageSo this morning I was woken up by my postman who had a package from Amazon for me.

How exciting! Naked Happy Girls is a great picture book of which I have quite a collection now. You can see a lot of them floating about on my coffee table in the last set of Rachael. Tonight I shall make a tonne of popcorn and sit down and watch The Constant Gardener. I’m a big time movie lover… although since I moved to London I’ve not really had the time nor the inclination to go to the cinema… which is weird. I used to go at least once a week all through my teens. Very occasionally at very quiet times I’d even run out of new stuff to see. I’ve been once since I moved down with a friend who came to visit and ended up seeing a movie called “Broken Flowers” with Bill Murray. Before that the last movie I’d seen at the cinema was “28 Days Later”. I was on a sort of date at the time and we picked the movie at random to see having no idea what it was about and I have to say I jumped quite a few times during the movie. Perhaps the one film I’ve seen that freaked me out and had me wanting to run to the toilets as an excuse so that I could hide. I’m a big wuss, huh? Coincidentally; they’re filming the sequal to “28 Days Later” around here in London at the minute. Lots of cameras and pretty people with clipboards are floating around alongside men dressed in army gear carrying rifles and bazookas and pretend policeman. It also seems – although I may be wrong – that if you’re a random floating about in the area in which they’re shooting you get the misfortune of floating about in the back of scenes to the movie. So… there is the slightest of outside chances that I’m in it. I have since been trying to figure how they can salvage a sequal from the plot… I imagine that it won’t be directed by Boyle this time around. Anyone know? :)

Carnival de Cuba

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

Well this weekend has been more successful than the last! Last weekend I headed down to the “Carnival de Cuba”, which was less the Live music, dance classes, food bursting with flavour, and eye-catching costumes will have droves of people moving to the beat, and more really quiet music; raw meat left to catch flies in the hot sun; no one in costimes and errrr a handful of people wandering around bemused! I headed over to Soho for noodles with my friends instead but we were hungry and went to a “new;unknown” restaurant which was rather a disappointment too. I don’t know what’s going on but this month I’m all about noodles! Spicy noodles to be precise. The spicier the better! Well last weekend was a let down I guess – but the weather was fine as was the company :)

This weekend I’ve eaten good noodles and have been making a more concerted effort to search for flatmates… I’ve found some great places – so after some brief emailing all should be cool for me to go check them – and the potential flatmates, out. I am really looking forward to sharing again! I’m far too young to live on my own really! I want to live with cool people that I can eat with and maybe even have some fun with. Some of the replies to my emails so far have been great! Scary statements like “we are very private people so you must be able to keep to yourself and be private“! What?! There are even more weird ones but maybe I should save them all up and share them with you *once* I’ve found somewhere great. It feels like I’d be cursing it somehow if I confidently start bitching about the bad shares!

Fern

Sunday, March 12th, 2006

I ended up going as Ashley Spinelli to the costume party. I wasn’t quite brave enough to go as She-Ra and the more minimal costume being her would require – especially as we’re still in the winter months! I had a black wig which I bought a very long time ago and have never worn. One of those stupid £5 type ones. Maybe I should wear it for a shoot? It does look entirely ridiculous though!

Earlier this week I also shot Fern who turned out to look way better than the picture she’d sent into me when we were exchanging emails. As I mentioned on her introductory set – there’s a movie to go along with the stills sets that I shot. A movie is always super good going for a brand new model – Getting your kit off for a load of rudey stills is normally enough for day one in porn! I also think I’m slowly getting better at shooting it too… much less wobble cam and weird colours and shadows. Hmmm… well… I’ll let you be the judge of that one!

Fern

The very exciting thing is that it’s my birthday at the end of next week! Woooo! :> I shall of course be spending it out of London with friends and familly – but I’ll keep you informed of what I get up to in my diary here! It’s scary to think that I’ll be 22. Eek! Time just increasingly seems to fly right by… Last year’s birthday doesn’t seem more than 3 months ago, let alone a whole year.

Merry *nearly* Christmas!

Saturday, December 24th, 2005
I’m back in my home town for Christmas, staying with the parents. They have done so much to the house since I was last here – I barely recognise the place - their home is lovely and christmas-y. It’s nice to see that they haven’t turned my room into a gym; or a gift wrapping room or anything like that… yet! My room is still very much my room with my spoilt brat only child four poster bed! :)
Their fridges are full of any food that I could possible want or eat and there’s a bath! My new flat doesn’t have a bath so I’ve been wallowing about in the tub this morning with the radio on – listening to the Christmas music that Radio One was pumping out and shaving my legs.
The best part about being back here is catching up with all of my extended family. I don’t get to catch up properly with grandparents; aunties; uncles; cousins; etc until Boxing Day but I can’t wait to see them all. With all of the threats of tube strikes and the like, I’ve decided to spend New Years’ Eve up here too so shall be having a very fun evening with friends.
To be honest I am bored sick this evening but I am remaining chirpy. I have to, don’t I? Otherwise Santa may decide to not bring me any gifts!
I managed to get another rocking review that I found earlier today – that totally brightened up my day. More about that later as I best be off for now as I’m supposed to be cooking dinner for everyone…

How many people are in the Crazy 88?

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005

Well… my birthday celebrations are over and I’m very much back!

Admitedly, this probably isn’t of interest to you but it’s a Tuesday evening in… Tuesday TV is super dull and me and my two flatmates are sitting here having a Tarantino movie Marathon beginning with “Kill Bill”. So the question comes up.. “I wonder how many people are in the Crazy 88 and how many of them Beatrix actually kills?”

Yes… we are that bored..!

Well, I’m still googling for the answer and have yet to find it. But i’ve found a few things along the way. There’s the crazy 88 game as well as some Dutch dude’s very own, homemade, Pussy Wagon for sale on Ebay!

But, my favourite has to be the Crazy 88 dolls! Well, I say dolls, they are very much Action Figures.

Kill Bill
Kill Bill

Since the Bride was hacking off extremities left and right, the Crazy 88 figures have removable heads and arms: the pieces pull off easily and plug back on securely, so you can play however you want. However, included in the package is a small bottle of disappearing ink. Red disappearing ink. And a squeeze bulb. “

Anyway, I will stop typing nonsense.. but if anyone does know how many people are in the Crazy 88… please email me!

Hungover

Tuesday, February 8th, 2005

Whoops… More than a whole week and not even one entry.

I’ve spent the last 48 hours recovering from the worst hangover in a very long time. Or rather… it’s taken me this long to sober up. I’ve only been sick from alcohol 3 times so far in life and this was one of them. Big time yuk, but I totally won’t gross you out with the details.
A combination of Mojitos, Red Wine, Caiprinias, Caprioskas and Waitangi Day are to blame. And yes, you read that correctly… the evil alcohol’s to blame, not me one bit…!
Well alcohol and Waitangi Day…
