I met up with friends yesterday, to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We met up around lunchtime at the Tate Modern (it’s a good meeting point!),  and had a wander around while waiting for everyone to arrive before going out for dinner and drinks and stuff. After reading the news stories about Salcedo’s crack I was expecting some huge chasm type hole in the floor. Apparently three women have been hurt by falling into it already. Stories like;

But one onlooker said: “We saw the first victim, a young woman who went into it with both feet up to just below her knees. She had to be dragged out by her friends.

“As we watched to see whether she was okay, an older woman deliberately stepped on it, lurched forward and landed on the ground. She told us she thought the crack was painted on the floor.”

Really. Come on. How stupid do you have to be.  They even hand out these pathetic warning leaflets to everyone warning them of the dangers of a hole in the floor… which is tiny. I walked the whole way along and really didn’t see somewhere I could step in to my knees. I know accidents happen and all that, but if you’re really that silly…

So the oven never got repaired. It was deemed to be dead by my Russian repair man. Two weeks on and my replacement oven arrived today… only it was 16watts rather than the 13watt oven which is what I need so it’s gonna be a few more days of junk food/microwave meals and take out while I wait for them to swap the ovens over. Living in a rental appartment and having to bitch at a landlord is so annoying. Especially as I’m not good at the bitching and moaning to get things done part of things.

 My blog is just one big “Ruth Rants”-fest, really isn’t it? In other more fun porn news I’m just about to shoot another movie of me. It’s August and it’s still raining every day… so how else is a girl to occupy her time?!

It’s been a quiet week or so here. I’m currently rather bored waiting for the oven repair man to come and fix my oven. The spare parts arrived yesterday so I’ll have a working oven for the first time in a while. I’m sure I’ll spend some time tomorrow cooking celebratory cupcakes or snickerdoodles or some other delicious cakey junk food whose name I enjoy saying as much as I enjoy eating them.

In other news I’m having a recurring dream. There are two main parts;
 One of my friends wins three million pounds and keeps it a secret from everyone including his ex-girlfriend who is very upset about it. In my dream this makes my friend really mean.
 In the other part of my dream I spend a lot of time having some full-on snog with a girl I went to school with (who I never found attractive but I *really* do in my dream.. and she’s a fantastic kisser too!). In the dream she’s conspiring with her boyfriend to trick me into a threesome with the two of them.
 It’s all very weird indeed… especially since I’ve had the same dream three nights running. I never normally remember any of my dreams… I think it’s mostly likely that I need to get some better curtains. Or perhaps my dream means something really deep… like I need to go kiss girlies or have a threesome or something! Really deep and meaningful. Hehe.

And I’ve just been giggling at this story… Policemen in Thailand who break rules will be punished by being forced to wear Hello Kitty armbands…

Ooo. Doorbell. That’s the repair man I guess…

I think that I may have posted a million times before about how much I dislike the “non thing” that is winter in London. I don’t want to go anywhere because it’s so chilly; no one wants to go out or meet up for the same reason. TV sucks! Endless grey, windy days and funky factory smells. Bleugh. On top of that I have a run of bills plus tax bills to pay. I’ve even started my spring cleaning early, in the hope that it will speed up spring’s approach. In all my cleaning and rearranging I discovered a few lost items; and a jar of unopened Marmite. I bought it to try the stuff as I never have before; I wussed out and it got forgotten to the back of a kitchen cupboard. I was going to brave some yesterday; until I discoved (Thank God!), that the use by date was April ‘06! What a lucky escape!

Thankfully; I have been doing lots of shooting; which has helped to while away some of the dullest days through January… so expect a run of sets to be queued up in the future update section of my site very soon! I also think that all that Christmas food had a very positive effect on my boobs! They’re bigger!

London has been freakishly windy for days even with music or the tv on I can hear the wind howling and whistling around my flat. I’ve pretty much kept to the house playing catch up editing video of Alana and Fern!

Well that and…  Editing photosets; eating chocolate mini rolls; ordering some new toys; playing with the current ones! :> Hehe; some days I just really love my job! Having a job where I can skip off to play with myself when I feel like it is awesome! I just have to remember to take the video camera into my bedroom with me… I keep trying to remember..! It’s also a good excuse to try and keep from spending lots of money. Christmas and New Year’s was super expensive. Catching up with lots of extended family; going out for drinks; food; and then partying over New Year’s all took it’s toll on my bank balance! I’m trying to save up for some new photographic bits and bobs. That also probably ensures that they’ll be a few movies of me in the can before the month is out! :> I’m also doing some more photosets (with me in the pics), this weekend; which I’m excited about! You’d think I’d be bored of being nude and rude on camera by now I guess; but no! It’s all as new and fun as it was when I first started out. I’m not sure what that says about me; or whether that applies to most porn women.
I remember shaking as I was so petrified on the first shoot that I did; not so much because I was embarassed because I was nude in front of a stranger but more the weirdness of the whole situation. Standing in the middle of the room naked being expected to just pose around and make it up for myself as I go along for hundreds of pictures. That’s what I found so scary. 

Well – that makes me a whole week late but I figured that I should post it anyway! A crazy new year’s celebration with friends; followed by a cold and the bookstore have ensured that I have been a little late writing anything. The cold is pretty much cleared up now which is great. I’ve spent lots of time lounging around in bed; reading; watching junk tv and eating. Just like I did over Christmas really! I’ve just finished this book and rather than start on this one (I got carried away in the history section in borders!) I thought that I’d actually get up and make some shooting plans! Much more fun! I’ve spent far too much time in bed! :> 

When it comes to Christmas I’m one of those last minute fools. The kind that is suprised every year that items are all sold out and that the queues are huge. Suprisingly; that wasn’t the case this year. Everywhere was nice and quiet and I headed home to the midlands with a few gifts and some foodstuffs. Doing one of the London markets is always fun just before Christmas… anywhoo… I should go and be sociable with everyone. And maybe eat a lot…

So it’s nearly 11pm. I’m getting there. My place is now so much of a tip that I have to carry on because there isn’t one piece of exposed floor anywhere in my living space. ANYWHERE! Oops! One thing is built. One to be finished; one still to go.

Check out just a small sample of the mess on a shot that I took on my phone cam. I would take more pics if I could easily get into the room; and then cupboard that my camera’s in. This fuzzy one can give you a good idea.

It wasn’t a good start when I found that just one of the three pieces of furniture that I bought has 320 different screws to stick the thing together with. I managed to waste a good 45 minutes where I was entirely sure that the Ikea assembly instructions were plain wrong. I even googled to see if there was a recognised error in the instructions for the draws I’m building. I didn’t find anything. Another 20 mins later I realised that it was just me being stupid. I am very much feeling like a 5 year old playing with building blocks.

I’m going to be up for a while tonight I think! Still… its much more fun than a jigsaw.

Yay! My generica furniture has arrived! Sort of… Just gotta try and put it all together.

Sorry for being quiet but my new flatmate moved in over the weekend so I’ve spent my time generally being sociable; You know… planning what sky package to buy; showing him where the bins go; that sorta thing. My old flatmate had to move with work so i’ve been stuck and a little poor for a while covering the whole rent. Advertising for a flatmate didn’t go so well as, rather than message me through the site as I didn’t list my email address, the first two apps came through the same day to my r@ar email address.

“Hey Ruth; hot pics; I recognised the pics of the flat from your website. Lets live together; I don’t wanna live in your area though. Are you tied to a long lease cause we could find a place in East London together instead. That’s where I’m looking to move to”

That kinda yawn.

 Luckily I got a text message that same day from an old flatmate saying

 ”Hey Ruth; I’m not sure if this is still your phone number; I don’t suppose you know anyone that’s looking for a flatmate do you?”

How lucky is that?! So Tim has moved in. Tim, Cassie and me used to live together when I first moved to London so it’s perfect really. With the exception of this weekend he goes to visit his family every weekend and works really long hours. More perfectly he knows what I do for a living so everythings easy on that front :>

Hmm… so on Wednesday with the first spare money I’ve had in a while; I went on a visit to Ikea. They’re actually launching shop onine in the new year which will be pretty cool. The stuff is supposed to arrive anytime now…. Lots of boring furniture. No doubt I’ll be back blogging and bitching on here in a while about how I can’t put all the stuff together. We’ll see I guess. Then I’m off Christmas tree shopping.

Well I have saved the mystery of the video outputs. I’ve spent all week experimenting trying to figure out what I was doing so wrong. Seriously. I have done nothing else but mess around with my movie outputs; type in the various error messages that I was encountering into yahoo (cos google sucks these days); and mess around with my movie outputs some more.

Well today I solved the problem… There isn’t one! In fact there was just some glitch in the capture of the movie that was making the converter trip up every single time. Discovering that there isn’t a problem and never has been is entirely frustrating in itself. It’s entirely like spending days putting a puzzle together only to get to the end and find out that you’ll never get to finish it because there are a handful of pieces missing. Ok, so that isn’t the best analogy that I could come up with but it’s kinda late and I’m half pissed off because this non-problem has cost me a whole week of confusion. And half excited because now I can shoot more video!

Any-yay, Heather won on Hell’s Kitchen. Old news to a lot of people I guess but I only have British terrestrial tele so I’m always a million years behind most people. Mind you; I may treat myself to the luxury of Sky+ as a Christmas present errr… to myself! Whenever I’m home and want to watch TV there’s nothing on so Sky+ would be awesome. There’s only a few things I enjoy more than picking an evening where I do nothing much more than slob out in front of some saved up TV.

I have to say; I’ll never take being able to drink water from the tap for granted again. I noticed the water to my flat was out yesterday afternoon and it has *JUST* come back again. I always thought that you were supposed to be kept informed if they’re cutting off your water for anything of time – and aren’t the council or Thames water or whoever it is supposed to provide a stand pipe for you? Anywho the problem was some big water leak – I just kept assuming that the water would just come back sometime yesterday but it didn’t I lost the electricity on top of the water for hours and hours instead! The worst thing is that I live above shops so when the power went out at 10pm last night it tripped all of the store alarms! Fun huh?!

I am entirely embarassed to admit that when it comes to problems like this I am useless. My flatmate wasn’t in and as there was no sign of a leak or anything I had no idea why the water had stopped. I initially thought that maybe I’d been cut off for no reason in particular – although now I’ve found out that legally they’re not allowed to do that. And then I thought that maybe it was a leak in my flat – but apparantly I’d notice that! Air in the pipe? Enough to kill that water supply completely?! Where *do* you find out about all this key crucial stuff? I was trawelling the net for a good 3 hours or so trying to find general information about your water supply (and possible things that can go wrong along with how you go about fixing those problems), before the workmen arrived in trucks and started digging up the road.

I am just a complete ditz or do other people not know this stuff too? :S

Boogie Nights was on TV the other night and for the first time I was able to watch the entire movie all the way through. Normally I’d only get around 20 mins in before having to head out somewhere. I always saw it urning out as a Shiny, Happy People doing Porn type of movie. I’m such a ditz sometimes! Wasn’t I entirely wrong?!

I’ve been searching for Rollergirl’s yellow heart glasses in shops for what seems like forever because I totally want to do a spoof as a photoset for my site. That whole jiggling about the place in rollerskates and nothing much else is very hot! I always thought that Heather Graham was one of the dullest and generally talentless of actresses in Hollywood until I saw this movie. And as for Mark Whalberg… :) Hmmm…! If you happen to spy and similar glasses in any store just about anywhere I’d be very grateful if you could let me know!

 

This is my first post with wordpress. How very exciting! It’s going to be a somewhat minimal blog until I’ve managed to transfer all my old entries across from my old blog. In the meantime, here’s a picture of Rachael who I just go back for another shoot. Ignore the nonsense text… I’m just testing stuff out :)

Trust me, it’s paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed. For mine is a generation that’s circles the globe and searches something we haven’t tried before. So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It’s probably worth it.

Because God loves you, Paris Hilton allegedly started crying because she couldn’t get into Bungalow 8 for a private MTV Video Music Awards afterparty last Thursday. Sort of reminds you of this, except funnier and way less depressing. I would’ve peed myself if Tara Reid has walked by at that exact moment and somehow managed to get in. Pee would literally be streaming down my pants. It is anyways, but that’s because I had a lot to drink and the toilet is too far.

I’m not dead! It’s been very quiet on the blog front as I’ve been in flat hunting hell! I hvae looked at 25+ different places. Erm… and lets say that some of the places were very “interesting”, to say the least!

Well this weekend has been more successful than the last! Last weekend I headed down to the “Carnival de Cuba”, which was less the Live music, dance classes, food bursting with flavour, and eye-catching costumes will have droves of people moving to the beat, and more really quiet music; raw meat left to catch flies in the hot sun; no one in costimes and errrr a handful of people wandering around bemused! I headed over to Soho for noodles with my friends instead but we were hungry and went to a “new;unknown” restaurant which was rather a disappointment too. I don’t know what’s going on but this month I’m all about noodles! Spicy noodles to be precise. The spicier the better! Well last weekend was a let down I guess – but the weather was fine as was the company :)

The last few weeks I have mostly been doing shoots out and about (not for my site – *gasp*) ! But I have of course managed to find the time to do some great stuff for AR.com too! I’m moving in just a couple of weeks and have yet to find a place – so that’s mainly the thing that’s occupying my time! That’s the reason I’ve been off working - A tonne of final bills to pay – removal vans – and the very annoying… having to pay the next place’s deposit before getting the old place’s deposit back.

I’m finally back in London after a much longer time away than I planned. I headed home on the train this afternoon which was so busy that I had to spend the whole journey sitting on the floor as all of the seats were taken. Somewhat amusingly, I was on one of the Virgin trains… in one of the “in-between” carriages that has the bathroom in. The website describes the train’s toilet facilities as follows;

“Toilets are roomy and automatic doors allow easy access.”

Ha! The automatic doors most definitely allow easy access! There are no locks on the inside of the toilet cubicles. Instead, they are replaced with an electric “lock” button. Unfortunately for anyone who chose to frequent the bathroom – the lock button told them the door was locked when it most definitely wasn’t. People kept hitting the open button exposing someone in the bathroom. Very embarassing for them! I actually tried to point out to one lady that I didn’t think the lock was working however, in that grumpy British way she altogether ignored me. Oh well… I did try : ) There was much sniggering in my carriage – that’s for sure. What’s so wrong with a regular lock?! I needed to pee sooo bad by the time I got home. Bah!

My birthday this year was generally uneventful! I went out for a meal and then on for drinks with my closet friends from back home, which was altogether very grown up and civilised! I’m not really the type who’s fond of some grand celebration for my own birthday. It just always seems like so much effort to organise! Anyways.. the thing I’m not heading towards very well is Thank You for all of the Happy Birthday Wishes – and for the gifts too! :)

Somewhere along the line I missed out on any form of birthday cake so I’m planning to bake myself one! Chocolate I think.. Hmmm… who am I kidding… Chocolate most definitely! I’m actually not entirely a chocolate freak… I’m more about lots of salt on French Fries of Tesco’s Fizzy Mix sweets more than chocolate where evil food is concerned.. my cake of choice being Mille Feuille. Or maybe Profiteroles if I’m feeling especially piggy. You’d never guess that I’m typing all of this after having eaten my tea would you?!!

I’m supposed to be uploading and adding in more sets to my site today as well as updating some pages on the site like the wallpaper page – and I also think that now there’s a lot of content in the site a better way to browse around in the member’s area could be good too… although I am still yet to open Dreamweaver. Why is it that Monday mornings are *still* Monday mornings even if you don’t work a 9-5?
A big part of why I’m going so slowly today is pandora. So far, it beats listening to the radio… or maybe I’m so religiously marking tracks with a “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” to avoid all of the million things I have to do today like ring up and bitch at my bank for being screw-ups and laundry and hoovering. Oh… and I *also* have to go find some kind of windchime to stop pigeons from flying in and roosting on my balcony thing. Yuk! I spent *all* of yesterday floating about in my PJs watching crappy sci-fi on TV like Star Trek and Invasion, not leaving the house once which was super lovely, so I can’t really bitch about doing stuff today.

 

 

So, I spent most of yesterday shooting and had much fun… as ever! The photographer even organised a makeup artist; which is a first for me and my site. I’ve only ever done my own make up, which more often than not would mean not really doing anything at all! :) It’s cool to get to sit there and have someone who knows what they’re doing put make up on me… even if I don’t actually look any different after and hour and a half of sitting there (in my opinion)! I’m mainly impressed with myself for managing to sit still for so long. I’m so terribly ADD with everything! I usually only ever manage to half-blowdry my hair as half way through I think or something much better to do and wander of.

And to clarify… whilst doing the glam makeup thing is cool; those of you who aren’t fond of the “look” needn’t send me a panicked email as I won’t be piling on “the slap“ for every set! :)
